Composite Bonding

Non-invasive treatment that can dramatically transform the appearance of your smile.

What is composite bonding?

Bonding is a highly effective, non-invasive treatment that quickly enhances the appearance of your teeth. It can close small gaps and correct imperfections such as chips, cracks, and discolouration - giving you a complete, confident result. The procedure involves applying a tooth-coloured resin to the surface of the tooth, then carefully shaping and polishing it to achieve a smooth, natural finish.

Unlike crowns or veneers, bonding requires no tooth preparation and can usually be completed in a single visit. Because no enamel is removed, the treatment is completely pain-free and causes no sensitivity.

Other benefits of bonding include:

  • Durability – The results of cosmetic bonding are long-lasting, normally lasting for anywhere between 4-8 years. Of course, the spectrum may vary depending on the current state of dental health, conditions and oral hygiene.
  • Treatment completed in a single appointment (1-2 hours)
  • Cost-Effective – Unlike many other cosmetic procedures, cosmetic bonding is one of the most cost-effective treatments available.
  • Minimally Invasive – Bonding requires minimal tooth removal, which means that patients are able to get multiple teeth bonded in one short appointment!
  • No local anaesthetic required
  • No tooth pain or sensitivity after the treatment.

The procedure

Cosmetic bonding is a minimally invasive treatment designed to enhance the appearance of your teeth with little to no discomfort. During your initial consultation, we’ll discuss your goals and create a tailored treatment plan outlining how many teeth will be bonded and the desired outcome.

At your treatment appointment, our dental professionals will begin by thoroughly cleaning your teeth before gently etching the surface with a special gel to help the bonding material adhere. The composite resin is then carefully applied, shaped, and hardened under a curing light. This process may be repeated in thin layers until the ideal shape and finish are achieved. Finally, the bonded areas are polished for a smooth, natural-looking result.
